Post-Flood Relief (2017) - Chaudhary Foundation
The 2017 monsoon season brought devastatingly heavy rainfall across several districts in Nepal, causing deadly landslides and floods — several hundred people were killed and thousands more displaced without food and supplies.
When the first major flood hit in the southern districts, the Chaudhary Foundation convened its Disaster Response Team (DRT) within 12 hours. Having gained experience from 2015 earthquake, the DRT was able to start handing out essential supplies within 24 hours. CG Foods and CG Brewery not only provided frontline assistance by deploying staff members and mobilizing supply networks to the disaster sites but also donated thousands of packets of food, water, medical supplies, blankets and mattresses.
In total, the foundation provided supplies and assistance to over 10,000 people (2,500 households) in the Nawalparasi, Sunsari, Chitwan, Saptari and Bardiya districts.
