Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) - Chaudhary Foundation
It’s estimated ten percent of people in Nepal don’t have access to clean drinking water, which is why Chaudhary Foundation focuses on upgrading living standards through water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) projects.
Some of Nepal’s largest WASH problems are water pollution and scarcity, especially in rural and remote areas. To combat this, the foundation supports health promotion, safe drinking water and capacity building activities — including distribution of information, education and communication (IEC) materials, community awareness, providing clean and safe drinking water to schools and maintenance of WASH facilities.
Beyond these initiatives, the foundation also celebrates World Toilet Day (Nov. 19), World Water Day (Mar. 22) and Global Handwashing Day (Oct. 15) to integrate our WASH campaigns with national and international goals.
